The Yupiteru VT-125 and VT-225 were two dedicated airband receivers. The '125 civil only whilst the slightly larger VT-225 had UHF military coverage aswell. As both receivers are designed just for the airbands their performance was (and still is) exceptional. neither model is available anymore I'm afraid however they do sometimes appear on the used/secondhand market
Yupiteru VT-125The VT-125II is a very compact VHF airband only unit with frequency coverage from 108MHz to 142MHz. 30 memory channels are provided together with the ability to search up or down from any frequency. User defined search limits cannot be selected. Increment steps of 25KHz, 50KHz and 100KHz are available. The VT-125II operation is very similar to all other scanners in the Yupiteru range, operation is simple and straight forward. To set the VT-125 to receive 123.75MHz for example you would simply press [1] [2] [3][.][7][5] followed by [ENTER]. To store this or any in frequency in one of the 30 memory channels involves keying in the memory channel number followed by Function and Mem.Write. As the VT-125II is no larger than the palm of your hand measuring 57.2mm (w) x 127.5mm (h) x 35.5mm (d) the LCD screen is quite small. As the first digit of any frequency is always "1" Yupiteru have taken the idea seen in some Amateur handheld tranceivers of making this digit smaller than the rest of the frequency display as it is constantly fixed on "1". The LCD display shows frequency, channel number together with any other function enabled and also includes a bar segment signal strength meter.

Yupiteru VT-225Yupiteru have established an enviable reputation in receiver performance, the VT-225 is without doubt the "best" VHF and UHF airband handheld receiver on the market."Big Brother" to the VT-125II it has wider frequency coverage to include the UHF airband, increased memory channels totaling 100 together with 10 programmable Search Banks in which the user can define lower and upper limits, increment step size and mode. A total of 500 individual frequencies can be locked out when searching - a great advantage when the VT-225 stops on a constant carrier or interference and allows the VT-225 to search continuously. Operation is simple and follows all other Yupiteru receiver procedures. To set a frequency is simply a case of using the numerical keys and pressing [ENTER]. To store the frequency just requires the memory channel to be pressed followed by [Function] [Mem.Write]. The receiver has AM or FM Narrow modes of reception and various increment steps can also be chosen. Audio output is considerably more than the VT-125. The large LCD display shows frequency, memory channel together with a signal strength meter and any features activated such as delay or priority. The VT-225 requires four AA size batteries for operation (Nicads included) and can also be operated from an external 12 volt source.
