The AR7000 confirmed the arrival of the digital revolution employing true Digital Signal Processing. Signal demodulation & filtering are performed at high speed 16-bit DSP with digital down conversion digitising signals at an I.F. of 10.7MHz.
A built
in 16 colour 3.5 inch LCD (similar to the SDU-5000) provides visual scan,
search and other display data including a spectrum trace. The AR7000 may
also directly drive an external NTSC or PAL video display.
Twin VFO's are featured with Automode band data (which can manually be overridden), there are four programmable clocks and five programmable timers whilst built in RS232 support & infra red remote control are also standard features.
The AR7000 was released in the Japanese Domestic and North American markets but never distributed here in the U.K.
